I am an artisan woodworker with an educational background in fine arts. I discovered the joys of woodworking about twenty years ago and eventually switched from drawing and painting to designing useful objects in hardwoods.

   In February, 2010 I discovered the electronic cigarette. Being a 40 year cigarette smoker I was surprised that I liked using the electronic version better. I am not a doctor or addiction specialist so information as to the advantages and / or disadvantages of electronic “smoking” will have to be found elsewhere.

   The major drawbacks to the commercial, cigarette sized e-cigs is the short charge life of the batteries. Frustration with keeping a charged battery led me to discover e-cig battery modifications or, simply, mods.

   My new obsession with the e-cig and my older obsession with creating beautiful things blended together and I began covering my mods with decorative veneers. Many people seemed to like this idea.
